Welcome to the Ides of May—
This is the time of year when we're beginning to consider upcoming summer plans. Last summer there weren't any to speak of. This summer there will be more—and yet—it remains to be seen how many activities we'll be able to enjoy "normally".
So let's take one of the hallmarks of summer—a fair—and visit it virtually for now—with games, rides, and goodies to learn the teachings it has to offer us.
We all know what great fun a fair can be. The energy of it is like nothing else: vibrant, full of joy, thrills and excitement. However, there comes a certain point as it ends, when all the pluses of it wane. It's hardly the fun ride (pun intended) that it once was. What's left is more trash than flash—much less of a good memory than just so much detritus.
Ironically, though, when we sometimes stay "Too Long at the Fair”(2:48), past the point of it being enjoyable and vibrant, there can actually be an advantage.
Sometimes staying too long in a situation is the very impetus we need to propel us forward—even faster than if we’d left sooner.
