  The Anne Report

The Anne Report

Dear ,

Friday night the family visited Brookgreen Gardens’ “Night of a Thousand Candles.” It was spectacular. There was the tree strung with thousands of lights and a rectangular pool filled with 500 pounds of cranberries (see image below). While there, Thomas got hugged by a bear statue (see image below). Before we moved here, I dreamed of going to this spectacular light show. Now I’ve been two years in a row. What a treat.

My grandsons came for a few days, but their visit was cut short when Reynolds awakened in the night with a high fever. We were up much of the night, and I was truly afraid and bone tired at the same time. Grandpoppy found that there is one drugstore open in town during the night and he valiantly went to CVS, which was 20 minutes away, at 2:30 AM, to get some children’s Advil. He returned with Children’s Tylenol, which works as well, but it was not in the grape flavor that Reynolds will tolerate. Reynolds was resolute. He did not want to take the Tylenol. He pleaded and told me he was sorry that he did not want to take it, sorry Grandpoppy had to go get it, on and on. He tried tirelessly to negotiate his way out of taking the Tylenol but eventually took it and fell asleep. I’m sure he will be a lawyer. His mom, my daughter Elizabeth, was there at 8 AM and took the boys home. Later I saw pictures of Reynolds riding his bicycle outdoors. He looked completely fine. This proves what a doctor told me one time: “People can get sick so fast, but they can get well fast too.”

I wish for everyone a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and a Happy New Year. I am thankful for all the support I have received for the newsletter over the years. A special thank you to Charles Heineke, who not only edited the newsletter, but he also did the layout and many improvements as a labor of love. No words can convey my gratefulness to him, nor tell you the scope of his excellent work. This tenth year anniversary issue is the perfect place to end my weekly sharing. It’s been fun, heart-warming, and time consuming. I am grateful for all of it. I leave you with this thought: “Everything can be EZ or at least EZier.”

It’s the time of year when we can all make life EZ, or at least EZier. Let’s all make it an EZosophy holiday. Be sure to check out the Conscious Christmas Carols pdf download for this season. And that’s it for the Anne Report.

Reminder: This is the 10th Anniversary Issue of this newsletter. It's the last of my weekly newsletters. Future newsletters will be sent occasionally. Click here so you'll have Anne’s websites and contact information handy.

How the Newsletter Started

I received a call from a stranger in 2011. This man, Donald Wells, told me that he had listened to a visualization audio that I made in 2003, when I spoke at a Los Angeles conference. I didn’t remember that, but when he played it, I was sure that it was me. We hit it off, and we developed a working relationship. He eventually recorded the audio as a video and made a video of my products page. It was the time when such ideas as search engine optimization was gaining traction. Donald talked me into getting a Twitter Account, recording more videos, and having a newsletter. He had me posting regularly on many social media formats. He wanted me out in front of the world. He said I was my own brand and he coached me on being visible. That’s how I’ve ended up pounding out weekly newsletters for ten years – that would be more than 500 issues! Simultaneously I wrote and edited a digital political newsletter for six of those years. I was in my productive prime at age 63. You may not know, but an extensive study in the U. S. found that the most productive age in human life is between 60-70 years of age.

Though I might be a decent writer, I was not a great grammarian. Even with spell check and grammar check, which were limited back then, I made plenty of mistakes. Once I advertised that the reader who found the most mistakes in my newsletter would get a free something. Charles Heineke responded and won the prize. The next week, he sent corrections. After a few weeks, he said, “Why don’t you just let me edit for you. Your work deserves more than you can give it.” Charles and I became publishing buddies in the fall of 2013. He always tells me, “You are the talent. My job is to make you look good.” Thank you, Charles, for all your work. You surely helped my image!

Below are articles from the first three issues. I included a tip for the body, a tip for the spirit, and a tip for the mind in each of the earlier issues. Here’s what I wrote in the beginning years. I must thank the newsletter for giving me my writing wings. The first few issues were simple, and not so well thought out, but they led me to a richer writing style and life.

Diet for the Spirit, excerpted from the First Issue, 12/20/2011

Know someone who gets your goat? Watch how you feel when you think of this person; whether you are angry or irritated when you think of this person or if you feel sad because they don't seem to notice or appreciate you. Here’s an idea on healing your thoughts and feelings in regards to that person.

  • Get a votive candle and a picture of that person and put it in a private place.

  • Take the candle and picture out each day and think good thoughts about that person for five minutes.

  • See if you can feel what it’s like to be them. Send blessings to them and their family. Put away the candle and picture until the next day or leave the candle burning during the day if you are present. Do not leave a candle unattended. This practice helps erode inner conflicts, invokes compassion, and makes you feel better. This is really active forgiveness. Each person that we hold a grievance or upset with is a reminder of something inside that needs some light.

Diet for the Spirit, excerpted from the Second Issue 12/26/2011

  • Learn to be comfortable with a quiet mind. Try journaling or doodling. Practice listening to people without waiting for a break in the conversation so you can speak. You don’t have to do that all the time; just a few times for practice.

  • Learning to keep the mind quieter helps wean it from suffering and drama. Drama is the fix the mind uses to escape reality. Don’t hurry, scurry, and worry. Reality is always better than the spin we put on it, because truth is better than a lie. Without the mind getting in there and putting in its filters, life is sweet. Perceptions vary, but life is good all the time. If this doesn’t seem believable to you, it is because you have not had the privilege of directly experiencing life. Keeping the mind quieter gives reality a chance to pop through. The source dwells in reality.

Diet Tip for the Mind, excerpted from the Third Issue

  • This year make your reactions to chores, work, people, and circumstances different. Check to see how often you suffer when you don’t have to. You can fight for your right to suffer, but you can make a mistake, have a delay, be unable to make something happen, and just not suffer about it. We are not perfect; it is time to stop suffering about our fallibilities.
  • We are addicted to suffering about inconsequential things. We love to suffer. Do you want to make your life easier? Can you give up the part of your identity that suffers? We identify with our problems, but we are not our problems. Let go. Make it an easier year. Do not glorify suffering. It’s not worth it.

Thank you to my readers. I plan to send something out, who knows what, from time to time, but, for now, I’m exercising the Third EZosophy Vow. I’m wishing you the very best in the coming years and hope that you will say “yes” to life’s amazing opportunities, and balance that out with some powerful “noes,” because when you do, everyone’s life will be EZier and EZier. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Join Dr. Money’s Facebook Group

This group is a place to post uplifting affirmations and thoughts about prosperity and abundant living. Let’s create a right relationship with money so that we feel comfortable about money. Let’s use money as it’s meant to be used, and not as a way to accumulate power or to fill a void. We don’t need money to buy more stuff. We need it to create a world that works for everyone. We want to cast off old beliefs of lack and reclaim our natural state of abundance. Anne, AKA Dr. Money, posts a nightly goodnight video for the prosperity team, and everyone who watches those videos becomes a part of the prosperity team.
